The Aspire 3000 Pocket Climate Cool Wool Pillowtop pairs a 1,000-spring pocket unit and 2,000 micro springs with a pillowtop filled with wool and covered in Aspire’s Cool Blue fabric, which the brand says is designed to dissipate heat. It costs exactly the same as the wool, cashmere and silk version of this pillowtop, £430 for a 4ft6 double, so the choice between them comes down to how warm you sleep.

Cool Blue fabric and wool, in that order

Two layers handle temperature. The cover is Cool Blue tufted panel fabric, which Aspire’s cross-section describes as a technical fabric chosen to improve heat dissipation. Under it sits a wool comfort layer instead of the cashmere and silk blend used in Aspire’s other pillowtops. Wool is breathable and, as the National Bed Federation’s buying guide notes, a naturally resilient fibre with good fire retardancy. It takes up moisture rather than holding it against your skin, which is what helps on a humid night.

Layer, top to bottom What Aspire uses
Sleep surface Cool Blue tufted panel fabric
Pillowtop filling Wool comfort layer over a cotton and recycled polyester rebound layer
Pillowtop springs 2,000 micro tablet pocket springs
Comfort fibre 800gsm high-loft fibre, at least 70% recycled polyester
Main unit 1,000 nested pocket springs with a framed edge, between recycled felt insulators
Base 800gsm fibre and a woven damask underside

Aspire rates the feel medium-firm. The pillowtop gives a soft first layer, the pocketed springs below keep the spine level for back sleepers, and because each spring moves on its own, a partner turning over is felt less than on an open coil. Full details are on Aspire’s product page.

Sizes and prices

Size Mattress size (cm) Aspire price
Small single (2ft6) 75 x 190 £270
Single (3ft) 90 x 190 £310
Small double (4ft) 120 x 190 £370
Double (4ft6) 135 x 190 £430
King (5ft) 150 x 200 £470
Super king (6ft) 180 x 200 £530

Prices read on 15 October 2026. Every size shows a struck “was” price, £949 on the double, but this pillowtop already sold at the same reduced price in an archived copy of Aspire’s range from March 2026, so the figure above is the normal price, not a short sale. The flat 3000 Pocket Climate Cool Wool has the same cooling fabric without a pillowtop and costs more.

The terms

There is no sleep trial. Aspire’s returns policy takes away the 14-day right to cancel once a mattress’s hygiene seal is broken, unless it is faulty. The 5-year guarantee becomes a contribution after year one, from 20% of the current retail price in year two to 70% in year five, according to Aspire’s guarantee page. A pillowtop cannot be turned over, so rotate it head to foot to spread the wear.

Our verdict

Conclusion
“For a warm sleeper who wants natural fibres and a pillowtop without paying premium prices, this is Aspire's best buy: cooling fabric and wool at the same price as the cashmere version. If you sleep cold, take the cashmere and silk model instead.”
