The Aspire Pocket+ 1000 Memory is a 22cm hybrid mattress that pairs a pocket spring unit with eco foam and a memory foam comfort layer, made in the UK and delivered rolled in a box. A 4ft6 double costs £199 on Aspire’s own shop, which puts individually wrapped springs within reach of a foam-mattress budget.

Construction

Aspire’s cut-away diagram lists four parts, from the sleep surface down.

Layer What it does
Memory foam comfort layer Contours to shoulders and hips
Eco foam support layer Recycled foam between the springs and the surface
1,000 Pocket+ springs Aspire’s own spring unit for rolled mattresses
Polyester support layer Base under the springs

Ordinary pocket springs can lose some of their shape, especially at the edges, after being compressed for a box. Aspire says its Pocket+ unit was engineered to keep its structure after rolling. Each spring sits in its own fabric pocket, so movement on one side of the bed travels less to the other, and that is the main reason to choose this over an all-foam mattress if you share the bed. Aspire rates the feel medium and says the quilted top uses OEKO-TEX fabric. Allow up to 48 hours for the mattress to reach its full depth after unboxing.

Four covers, one mattress

You choose between Classic, Euro Top, Kids and With Handles. Aspire states that the inside is identical in all four and only the cover, quilting and border change. Classic, Euro Top and Kids cost the same, while handles add £15 in every size, worth it only if you plan to rotate the mattress often.

Sizes and prices

Size Mattress (cm) Classic or Euro Top
Small single (2ft6) 75 x 190 £164
Single (3ft) 90 x 190 £169
Small double (4ft) 120 x 190 £199
Double (4ft6) 135 x 190 £199
King (5ft) 150 x 200 £219

We checked these prices on 10 October 2026, with no reduction shown. There is no super king. B&Q sells the same mattress, sold and shipped by Aspire, at £249.99 for a double, and its listing showed an average of 4.9 out of 5 from 152 customer reviews when we looked. B&Q gives the depth as 23cm, against 22cm on Aspire’s page.

Returns and guarantee

The terms are the weak point, as they are across Aspire’s mattresses. You cannot try a rolled mattress without opening it, and Aspire’s returns policy removes the 14-day right to cancel once a mattress’s hygiene seal is broken. The 5-year guarantee is free only in the first year; after that you pay a rising share of the retail price for a replacement.

Who it suits

Couples and combination sleepers on a budget get the most from it, and the medium feel works for back and side sleeping alike. If you want natural fillings and a firmer, traditional tufted feel, Aspire’s 3000 range is the step up, at roughly three times the price in a double.

Our verdict

Conclusion
“We would pick the Pocket+ 1000 Memory over any all-foam Aspire if you share a double, and at its price it is the easiest mattress in the range to recommend. Skip it if you need a super king, or if you want a firmer, deeper mattress than this 22cm medium hybrid.”
