The TheraPur ActiGel Polar 1000 is a 22cm medium pocket sprung mattress with cooling gel foam, and the entry model of TheraPur, the cooling range Dreams makes and sells only in its own stores and online. It replaces the Polar 800, one of the retailer’s bestsellers, with more springs and refreshed comfort layers.

ActiGel is Dreams’ own gel foam, built with an open structure so air can move through it while it relieves pressure, and the ActiCool cover is designed to draw heat away from the body. Cooling covers are an established category. The National Bed Federation’s Bed Advice UK guide notes that one of the most popular ticking options is fabric that “offers effective thermal regulation through moisture wicking and evaporation technology”.
Dreams grades the comfort as medium, 5 on our scale, which suits side and back sleepers of average build. At 22cm it is slim enough for standard fitted sheets and most divans. It is single-sided, so you rotate it weekly for the first three months and monthly after that.

The Dreams 100-night comfort guarantee allows one exchange between nights 30 and 100 for a £95 charge, provided a mattress protector was used.
