The Silentnight Melrose 1200 Pocket Sprung Eco is a 28.5cm medium, double-sided mattress that Silentnight makes in the UK and Dreams sells in four sizes. Its springs sit between layers of Eco Comfort fibre, which Dreams says is made from plastic bottles, and there is no foam in the build.

Construction

Dreams lists 1,050 Mirapocket springs in a double, fewer than the 1200 in the name suggests, and describes the unit as zoned, with springs running edge to edge for a wider usable sleeping area. Being double-sided matters for how long a mattress keeps its shape. You turn it over as well as rotating it, weekly for the first three months and monthly after that, which spreads the wear across both faces.
