The Naturalmat Mohair is a 21cm spring-free mattress made from organic coconut coir, natural latex, mohair and organic wool, and it is the firmest model in Naturalmat’s range. Naturalmat says that when a customer in its showrooms asks for a firm mattress, the Mohair is the first one they are shown.
According to Naturalmat’s product page, layers of organic coir give the mattress its firmness, a core of natural latex adds spring, and two layers of needled mohair and organic wool form the sleeping surfaces. The materials page sets out what is certified and what is not:

OEKO-TEX Standard 100 tests a material against more than 1,000 harmful substances. It says nothing about how the material was farmed, which is why we keep it apart from the organic certificates.

Coir is stiff and lets air move freely, so the mattress suits back and front sleepers, heavier adults who sink through softer mattresses and anyone who sleeps hot. Side sleepers with broad shoulders usually need more give than coir allows. Naturalmat’s Cashmere uses the same kind of build with a double layer of latex and is the softer choice in that family.

Delivery is free, with a lead time of six to seven weeks for mattresses in October 2026. The guarantee runs for 10 years. Naturalmat does not offer a money-back trial: its 45-day Sleep Promise lets you exchange a bedroom mattress that does not suit you, with a contribution of about £75 towards collection and delivery.
