M&S Smart Wash & Dry Anti Allergy Mattress Topper im Test

The M&S Smart Wash & Dry Anti Allergy Mattress Topper is a quilted polyester topper made with blended fibres that M&S says reduce dust mite allergens, wash after wash. It belongs to the Smart Wash & Dry collection, which M&S sold as Supremely Washable until the rename, and is designed to be washed and dried within a day.

Construction and care

The product page calls the topper “scientifically proven to reduce dust mite allergies” but names no study, test house or certification, so we treat that as the retailer’s claim. Washing helps regardless. The NHS advice on allergic rhinitis is to use synthetic bedding and to wash it regularly at 60°C and above; this topper is synthetic but labelled for 40°C, so pair it with a protector you can wash hotter.

It is a thin comfort layer that takes the edge off a firm surface rather than changing how the bed supports you. Only one buyer had reviewed it on the M&S site in October 2026.
