The M&S Everyday Mattress Enhancer is the cheapest topper-style layer Marks & Spencer sells: a wave-quilted, 85gsm soft-touch microfibre cover over polyester fibre, with all-round binding and four elasticated corner straps. M&S calls it an enhancer rather than a topper, and that is a fair description of how much it changes the bed.

The 85gsm figure describes the weight of the cover fabric, not the amount of filling, so do not read it as a measure of softness. What the enhancer does well is protect a mattress and take the edge off a firm or slightly worn surface on a guest bed, a student room or a rental, where a deep topper would be wasted.
It will not change how a mattress supports you, and its polyester cover feels less crisp than the cotton on the dearer M&S toppers. Because it can be washed at 40°C and tumble dried, it is easy to keep fresh between guests. It had no customer reviews on the M&S site in October 2026.

M&S lists its sizes in feet, and the centimetre sizes above are the UK standard for those beds; there is no small double or emperor. M&S states no sleep trial or guarantee, and its returns policy accepts mattress protectors, the category M&S sells its toppers in, only unopened with the hygiene seal intact.
