Ezysleep 2 Inch Soft Bamboo Bounce Back Foam Mattress Topper reviewed

The Ezysleep 2 Inch Soft Bamboo Bounce Back Foam Mattress Topper is a 5cm memory foam topper made with bamboo extract, in a zipped removable cover with a bamboo print, sold on Ezysleep’s own shop from £29.99 for a single. It is the thinner, cheaper sibling of Ezysleep’s 4 inch bamboo topper, which starts at £49.99 for a single, and a low-cost way to soften a firm mattress.

Construction

Ezysleep’s product page describes the core as anti-allergy memory foam with bamboo extract and calls the topper hypoallergenic. The product photos show a zip running along the cover and elastic straps at the corners. Ezysleep does not publish the foam density or the cover’s fibre content, and it names no certifications for this topper.

Sizes, prices and stock

Ezysleep gives the small double as 122 x 190cm, the imperial 4ft width, rather than the rounded 120cm some retailers quote. The price rises by £25 from single to super king, a small spread that makes the larger sizes the better value per square metre.

Feel and who it suits

We rate it medium soft, 4 out of 10. Memory foam softens with body heat and moulds to your shape, and unlike down or microfibre it recovers its height without being shaken out, which is where the “bounce back” in the name comes from. It can also feel warmer to lie on; Ezysleep says the topper is designed to help transfer excess heat away from the skin, but it publishes no figures to support that. At 5cm the topper eases pressure at the shoulders and hips on a firm mattress without hiding a dip in a worn one. For more depth, the same design is sold as a 4 inch version.

Returns and delivery

Read the returns terms before ordering. Ezysleep’s delivery and returns page allows returns within 28 days of delivery, but bedding cannot be returned once opened for hygiene reasons, so you cannot try the topper and send it back. That exclusion is lawful. Under regulation 28 of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, the right to cancel an online order ends once sealed goods that are not suitable for return for health protection or hygiene reasons have been unsealed after delivery. A topper that arrives faulty is a different matter and remains covered by your statutory rights. Standard UK delivery takes from three working days, with tracking. Ezysleep is run by Home Online Stores and says it can deliver to 95% of the UK from its own warehouse.
