Silentnight Super Snuggly 10cm Mattress Topper reviewed

The Silentnight Super Snuggly 10cm Mattress Topper is a deep, soft hollowfibre topper for anyone who wants a firm or tired-feeling mattress to feel plumper and cosier. It adds 10cm of Fibadown, Silentnight’s down-like polyester fibre, under a soft-touch microfibre cover, and it is sold through Habitat and Argos in all five UK sizes from £52 for a single (September 2026).

What it is made of

The Habitat product page lists a microfibre cover and reverse, a hollowfibre polyester filling and elasticated corner straps. Silentnight’s product images add the details: the Fibadown filling, internal walls that keep the fibre spread evenly, and a 7cm sidewall within the 10cm overall depth. There is no foam, feather or down in it.

Feel and who it suits

We rate the Super Snuggly soft, 3 out of 10 on our firmness scale. Deep fibre compresses under the shoulder and hip, so it suits side sleepers and lighter sleepers on a hard mattress, guest beds, sofa beds and anyone who likes to sink in. It adds cushioning rather than support, so heavier sleepers will flatten it sooner, and it will not fix a mattress that already sags. Like any fibre filling, it flattens where you lie and needs regular shaking to recover its loft.

Warmth

A 10cm fibre layer under a microfibre cover holds more heat than a thin topper, so the Super Snuggly suits a cool bedroom better than a warm one. The Sleep Charity puts the ideal bedroom temperature at around 16 to 18°C and warns that rooms above 24°C are likely to cause restlessness. If you already sleep hot, Silentnight’s Airmax 1000, with air-mesh sides, is the cooler deep topper in the same range.

Care and allergies

The listing is not consistent on washing. Its description says the topper is machine washable and tumble dryer safe, while the care line names only the cover, so check the sewn-in label before putting the whole topper in the machine, and allow for a large drum at this depth. Synthetic fillings are the usual choice for allergy sufferers: the NHS suggests synthetic bedding for people with allergic rhinitis, washed regularly at 60°C and above. Habitat gives no maximum wash temperature for this topper.

Sizes and prices

Prices are Habitat’s regular prices at the time of writing (September 2026), and orders are fulfilled and delivered by Argos. There is no sleep trial; Habitat charges £3.95 to collect an unwanted small item, or you can return it to a store for free. Habitat shows an average of 4.7 out of 5 from 24 customer reviews.
