The Silentnight Airmax 1000 Extra Deep Mattress Topper is a 10cm hollowfibre topper with air-mesh side walls, sold in single, double and king from £42 at its regular price. It is the deepest model in Silentnight’s Airmax range, which is built around breathability.
According to the Silentnight product page, the topper has a dual-layer construction that lets air move between the layers, and mesh sides so warm air can leave around the edges. The filling is an anti-allergy, anti-bacterial fibre that Silentnight says protects against bacteria and dust mites.

A 10cm fibre topper is one of the cheapest ways to make a mattress feel softer, and fibre stays cooler than memory foam. We rate the feel as medium, 5 out of 10, in line with the rating Silentnight gives its other Airmax toppers. If dust mites are your concern, note that Allergy UK says washing at 60°C or above is what kills them, so check the care label before relying on the anti-allergy claim.

These are regular prices. At the time of writing (September 2026) Silentnight had the topper on an autumn offer from £32, with no end date stated. A super king appears in the dimension table but could not be ordered when we checked, so we do not list it. Delivery takes 2 to 3 working days and there is a 2-year guarantee.
The limitation is the one every fibre topper shares: hollowfibre compresses over time and needs regular shaking out, and it adds softness rather than support. On a mattress that already sags, fix the mattress first.
Silentnight sells Airmax toppers in three depths: the 3cm Airmax 300, the 8cm Airmax and this 10cm Airmax 1000. The Airmax 1000 is the only one of the three you can currently buy in a single or double from Silentnight itself, and at regular prices its double costs £46. For most people who want a noticeably softer bed, the 10cm depth is the one to choose, because a 3cm layer barely changes how a mattress feels.
