REM-Fit Halo Memory Foam Topper reviewed

The REM-Fit Halo is a 4cm memory foam topper made of 45D open-cell visco foam in a breathable Re-Ax cover with a mesh border, elastic straps and an anti-slip base. It softens a mattress that feels too firm, costs £151.20 in a UK double at the time of writing (September 2026), and comes with a 30-night trial and a 10-year guarantee.

REM-Fit sells eight sizes. When we checked, the UK single, UK king and super king were out of stock.

REM-Fit shows a higher “Others Total Value” figure next to these prices. According to REM-Fit’s own explanation, that figure is set at or below the average selling price of three or more comparable products. It is not a previous REM-Fit price, so we ignore it.

Does it sleep cool?

Cooling is the Halo’s main claim, and an independent reviewer backs it. Jo Plumridge, who tested the king size for Expert Reviews in October 2024, wrote: “REM-Fit’s Halo mattress topper is an excellent choice if you sleep warm.” She found that it stayed cool to the touch, while noting that she tested it on cooler nights and that even breathable memory foam sleeps warmer than other materials. She also found the topper slightly firmer than others she had tried and a little too firm under the hip for her light build, which matches our medium-firm rating of 6 out of 10.

The same review found that the Halo did an excellent job of limiting motion transfer and that the straps and anti-slip base kept it in place, a common weak point of loose foam toppers. Expert Reviews called the price its main drawback at the time, at £219 for a king; REM-Fit has since cut the king to £175.20.

Topper or new mattress?

A 4cm topper changes how the surface feels. It cannot restore support to a mattress that has sagged. The National Bed Federation’s Bed Advice checklist asks whether your mattress is more than seven to 10 years old, and the 18th National Bed Federation consumer survey found that the average mattress being replaced was 6.84 years old. If yours is younger than that and simply too firm, the Halo is a sensible fix. If it dips in the middle, put the money towards a new mattress.
