Naturalmat Coco Mat im Test

The Coco Mat is Naturalmat’s best-known nursery mattress, made by hand in Devon from organic and sustainable materials. It comes in crib, cot and cot bed sizes, about 5cm deep for the crib and 8cm for the cot and cot bed.

Organic coir from a certified organic coconut plantation in Sri Lanka forms the supportive core, with organic wool from Soil Association certified farms in the South West on top. The materials breathe and ventilate, which helps babies regulate their temperature.

Unlike the Crib Coco Mat, it has a quilted wool and cotton cover. The weave passes UK fire rules without synthetic treatment, and a plant-based geraniol finish that Naturalmat describes as OEKO-TEX certified resists dust mites and bed bugs. The outer cover is removable and washable at 40 degrees on a wool cycle.

The cot size is 60 x 120cm and the cot bed 70 x 140cm, and any size can be made to measure. It carries a 5-year guarantee, meets BS EN 16890 for children’s mattresses and is delivered free in three to five working days.
