The Little Green Sheep Twist Natural Cot Bed Mattress is a dual-sided coir, latex and wool mattress for babies and toddlers.
Twist is The Little Green Sheep’s best-selling cot mattress and the model behind most searches for its cot and cot bed mattresses. The 70 x 140cm cot bed size is the main version; the same design is sold for 60 x 120cm cots, 70 x 132cm and 77 x 132cm cot beds, the Stokke Sleepi and the Mamas & Papas 400.
The idea is in the name: one side is firm for a baby, the other is more supple for a mobile toddler, and you flip it when your child moves on. The layers are coconut coir, natural latex and wool under a quilted herringbone cotton cover, handmade in Europe without chemical fire retardants.
On the baby side we place it at 8 out of 10 on our firmness scale; the toddler side is noticeably softer. Coir and wool keep air moving through the mattress, so it suits babies who run warm better than a dense foam block.
The 10cm mattress passes BS 7177 and BS EN 16890 and carries a five-year guarantee. The weakness is care: the outer cover does not come off, so you are relying on a waterproof protector for every accident.
