The Littens 4 Inch Ultimate Premium Cotton Soft As Down Mattress Topper is a 10 cm topper filled with super-fine microfibre inside a 280 thread count cotton casing, sold by Littens from £70.95 for a single. It is the deepest fibre topper Littens makes, and it gives a hard mattress a plump, hotel-style layer without any feathers.
According to Littens’ product page, the microfibre filling is held in place by a boxed stitch pattern and by inner and outer baffle walls, which stop the fill drifting to the edges and help the topper keep its 10 cm loft. The side wall is pin-striped, the edge is double stitched with gold piping, and four elasticated anchor bands, one per corner, hold it on the mattress. Littens does not publish a fill weight, a firmness rating or washing instructions for this model. If 10 cm is more than you need, Littens also sells a 3 inch version of the same topper.

We rate it medium-soft, 4 out of 10: deep fibre compresses under the shoulder and hip and feels closer to a feather bed than to foam. Like any fibre fill it settles where you lie, so give it a regular shake to bring back the loft. At this depth it also holds more warmth than a thin fibre pad, which matters if you already sleep hot.
A feather-free fill is the usual advice for allergies: the NHS suggests synthetic bedding for people with allergic rhinitis, washed regularly at 60°C and above. Littens gives no wash temperature for this topper, and a 10 cm topper is bulky to wash at home, so a washable protector over it is the practical way to keep it clean.
Read Littens’ returns policy before you order. Most items can be returned within 30 days of delivery, but mattress toppers are excluded for hygiene reasons unless they are unopened and still sealed, or faulty. That matches UK consumer law, which Citizens Advice explains removes the 14-day cooling-off right from items with a broken hygiene seal. There is no sleep trial and no stated guarantee.
