Cloud­Topper Luxury Thick Mattress Topper reviewed

The CloudTopper Luxury Thick Mattress Topper is a 10cm plush topper sold online by CloudTopper from £66.90 for a single. It stands out for a 100-night trial and free next-day delivery, both rare on a plush topper at this price, while CloudTopper says little about what is inside it.

Construction and care

The CloudTopper product page describes 10cm of layered plush filling inside a hypoallergenic, breathable cover, box-stitched and held on by deep elastic corner straps that fit standard UK mattresses. It does not name the filling material or give a fill weight, and the description is inconsistent: one line calls it long-lasting foam, every other mention says plush filling. The whole topper is machine washable on a cool, gentle cycle and can be tumble dried on low, which makes it easy to keep fresh. A cool wash will not deal with dust mites, though. The dust mite leaflet from Cambridge University Hospitals recommends a 60° cycle for bedding and warns that “A cooler wash will only partly kill the mites”.

Sizes and prices

CloudTopper shows every size at “50% off” a higher crossed-out figure. The Internet Archive copy of the page from 12 February 2025 shows the same selling prices against the same crossed-out figures, so we treat the selling price as the regular price.

Trial, delivery and who it suits

The 100-night trial is the main reason to choose CloudTopper over cheaper 10cm toppers. If it does not suit you, CloudTopper refunds in full, covers the return shipping and charges no restocking fee. That matters, because many retailers take a topper back only if it is unopened. Delivery is free and next day across mainland UK, with orders placed before 11.30am dispatched the same day from a Northampton warehouse. No warranty is stated. The seller behind the brand is Jamie Ecom Ltd, listed at Companies House with a London registered office.

CloudTopper markets the topper heavily at back, hip and joint pain and quotes customers with arthritis. Those are customer reports rather than evidence. Softening a firm mattress is what a 10cm plush layer does well, but it adds no support. Buy the CloudTopper to soften a firm but sound mattress; if yours has dipped, the money is better spent on a replacement.
