The IKEA Ågotnes is a 10 cm firm foam mattress, the thinnest and cheapest full-size mattress IKEA sells in the UK, at £65 for a Single. It comes in single widths only, including the continental 80x200 and 90x200 cm sizes that IKEA’s day-beds take, and IKEA sells it in sets with its HEMNES and VIHALS day-beds.
The IKEA Ågotnes product page describes one layer of polyurethane foam at 33 kg per cubic metre with a layer of polyester wadding in the cover. The ticking is 70% recycled polyester and 30% viscose with a polypropylene underside. The cover is not removable, and IKEA’s care label says to clean it with upholstery shampoo. IKEA specifies a slatted bed base or a slatted mattress base underneath, and states that the Ågotnes meets the durability requirements of EN 1957 and the flammability requirements of the British Standard BS 7177.

IKEA’s own day-bed sets show what the Ågotnes is for. At 10 cm it is 2 cm thinner than the Åfjäll, and it belongs on a day-bed, a bunk or a spare bed rather than on a bed used every night. For an adult’s everyday bed, a 2021 systematic review of 39 studies in the Journal of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (Caggiari et al.) concluded that “a medium-firm mattress promotes comfort, sleep quality and rachis alignment”, and the Ågotnes is sold in firm only.
These are IKEA’s online prices at the time of writing (September 2026). IKEA also advertises the Single at £49 in store only, while stock lasts, from 1 September to 20 December.

The mattress carries IKEA’s 10-year guarantee. Its product page does not show the 365-night exchange, but IKEA’s general terms and conditions apply the ‘Sleep on it’ exchange to all full size new mattresses, excluding only children’s and cot mattresses. IKEA customers rate the Ågotnes 3.8 out of 5 from 1,564 reviews. Its limits are plain: single widths only, a cover you cannot wash and 10 cm of foam that belongs on a day-bed, a bunk or a spare bed rather than under an adult every night.
