Bestway Flocked Airbed reviewed

The Bestway Flocked Airbed is a basic 22cm vinyl air bed without a pump, sold in single, double and king sizes on Bestway’s UK shop from £9.99 for the single at the time of writing (September 2026). It is designed for camping trips and the occasional guest, not for regular use.

Inside is Bestway’s traditional coil-beam structure, a grid of internal air chambers that gives the surface its quilted look and spreads your weight. The top is flocked, a velvety coating that helps stop a sheet or sleeping bag sliding off and is softer against the skin than bare vinyl. A two-way interlocking valve handles inflation and quick deflation. The double, at 137cm wide, is close to a UK double (135cm), and the 183cm king is nearer a UK super king (180cm) than a UK king. Bestway rates the double to the same 150kg as the single, so two adults sharing it can exceed the stated limit, and the 300kg king is the size for a couple.

You will need a pump, because none comes in the box, and Bestway sells separate versions of the Flocked Airbed with a built-in foot pump or a battery pump if you want one included. At 22cm the bed sits low, which is fine in a tent but awkward for older guests getting up from floor level. For spare-room use, a raised model such as the 46cm Bestway TriTech is easier to live with.

Staying inflated through the night is where cheap air beds usually disappoint. Bestway benchmarks its pricier TriTech material as 44% more stretch-resistant than standard PVC. The Flocked Airbed is plain vinyl, the baseline in that comparison, so keep a pump within reach after the first night.

Bestway’s warranty page sends air bed claims to the retailer rather than listing a term, so on a direct order your protection is the 30-day return window for unused items and the Consumer Rights Act 2015, with its 30-day short-term right to reject faulty goods. Delivery is free on orders of £20 or more and £3.99 below that, so the single alone pays the delivery charge.
