Vango Blissful Double Airbed reviewed

The Vango Blissful Double Airbed is a 46cm raised air bed whose built-in mains pump tops it up automatically during the night, so it keeps the firmness you set at bedtime instead of sagging by morning. Vango lists it at 191 x 140cm with a maximum load of 227kg. At the time of writing (September 2026) Camperite sells it for £99.99, while Vango’s own shop shows it out of stock at £150.

The pump is what separates the Blissful from a standard raised air bed. Vango calls it the Constant Comfort pump. It stops once the bed reaches the chosen setting and restarts quietly when it detects a loss of pressure, which covers both the slow stretch of new PVC and a small leak. Vango is clear that the bed must have electric power to maintain its firmness, so on a pitch without hook-up it behaves like any other air bed and softens through the night.

Inside, Vango uses coil beam construction under a flocked PVC top, with raised edges for stability and a three-layer height. The base is smooth so it does not scuff a tent groundsheet, and a carry bag and repair patches come in the box. At 140cm wide the bed is 5cm wider than a standard 135 x 190cm UK double mattress.

The Blissful suits a spare room, or a campsite pitch with electric hook-up, where you want the bed as firm on the third night as on the first. It is sold in a double only, weighs 8kg packed and costs more than twice as much as the pump-equipped Active Era Comfort double. Vango’s two-year warranty is extended to three years when you register the bed, and a faulty bed can be rejected within 30 days under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
