Dunelm Rebound Mattress Topper reviewed

The Dunelm Rebound Mattress Topper is a recycled polyester fibre topper that adds a soft, springy layer to a firm mattress and can be washed whole in a domestic machine. It is one of the best-rated toppers Dunelm sells, averaging 4.6 stars from 884 reviews on its product page at the time of writing (September 2026).

Construction

Both the filling and the cover are 100% recycled polyester, and elasticated corners hold the topper on the mattress. Dunelm’s sustainability note on the page says the polyester is certified recycled material made from waste such as plastic bottles and manufacturing off-cuts. Dunelm’s specification table gives a depth of 5cm in every size, while the size options on the same page are labelled 3cm; we use the 5cm figure, which the product description repeats. Fibre feels lighter and bouncier than memory foam and springs back at once instead of moulding slowly to the body. We rate the Rebound medium-soft, 4 out of 10.

Regular prices, checked on 28 September 2026. Against the Fogarty Quick Dry, the other washable fibre topper Dunelm sells, the Rebound is deeper (5cm against 3cm) and costs the same in a single, £30. Unlike Dunelm’s two memory foam toppers, the Rebound also comes in a small double (120 x 190cm).

Washing and allergies

Washability is the Rebound’s strongest point. Dunelm lists it as machine washable and safe to tumble dry on a low heat, and because both fill and cover are synthetic it fits the NHS advice for people with allergic rhinitis to use synthetic bedding and wash it regularly at 60C and above. The page does not state a maximum wash temperature, so check the sewn-in care label before a 60C wash. Larger sizes are bulky when wet, and a large-drum machine makes washing a king or super king easier.

Limits

Fibre compresses with use and does not recover on its own the way foam does, so plan on shaking the Rebound out regularly. It adds comfort rather than support and will do little for a mattress that is already sagging, in which case the money is better spent on a new mattress. There is no sleep trial, and Dunelm accepts change-of-mind returns only on unused items within 28 days.
