Härte: WeichA five-zone Aurora foam topper with a removable washable cover, reversible design and elasticated mattress straps.
The John Lewis Specialist Support 5-Zone Aurora Foam Mattress Topper is a zoned polyurethane foam topper made in the UK, designed to give a firmer, more even surface rather than plush softness. John Lewis describes 5cm of its Aurora foam cut into five responsive zones, with a profiled surface it says moves more air than memory foam. It is the zoned support pick in our John Lewis mattress topper ranking.
On the John Lewis product page, John Lewis says the zoned design adapts to body movement and gives good bounce-back, and that the topper is reversible. The same page gives a depth of 3cm in the product dimensions, so treat 5cm as the upper figure until John Lewis settles it. A double weighs 9kg. Unlike memory foam, which softens with body heat and moulds slowly, a responsive foam like this springs back quickly, which makes it easier to turn over on.
The foam sits in a removable 100% polyester cover that can be machine washed at 40°C, but must not be tumble dried, dry cleaned, ironed or bleached. Elastic straps hold it on mattresses up to 32cm deep. John Lewis advises against using it with an electric blanket. It carries a two-year guarantee.
| Size | Dimensions (cm) | Regular price |
|---|---|---|
| Single | 90 x 190 | £139 |
| Double | 135 x 190 | £159 |
| King | 150 x 200 | £179 |
| Super king | 180 x 200 | £199 |
On 4 October 2026 the double and super king were in stock online, while the single and king were sold out.
Like every John Lewis topper, it can only be returned unopened, unused and with its seals intact unless it is faulty, and there is no sleep trial. Standard delivery was free on orders over £50 (£4.50 below that) and Click and Collect free over £40 when we checked in October 2026.
It suits back and side sleepers whose mattress feels slightly too soft or uneven and who want more even support without the slow sink of memory foam. It cannot rescue a mattress that sags in the middle. The National Bed Federation recommends replacing a mattress every seven to eight years, after around 20,000 hours of use, as Furniture News reported, and a mattress older than that is usually the real problem.
„Pick the 5-Zone Aurora if you want a foam topper that feels more responsive and less warm than memory foam. It adds targeted support at the surface, but cannot fix a mattress that has sagged.“Zum Shop →
