The Aspire Pocket+ 1000 Duo Tufted Dual Sided Mattress is a 22cm, hand-tufted mattress with two different feels: one side medium, the other medium-firm. It sits on Aspire’s Pocket+ springs, arrives rolled in a box and is made in the UK. A 4ft6 double costs £199, which makes it the cheapest mattress in Aspire’s range with both pocket springs and a 5-year warranty.

Two feels in one mattress

The two faces are built differently, according to Aspire’s product page and its cross-section:

Layer Medium side Medium-firm side
Cover Soft-touch Pisa fabric Knitted fabric
Comfort layer 800gsm polyester pad 100% recycled eco foam over a 400gsm polyester layer
Insulator Recycled felt pad Recycled felt pad
Shared core Pocket+ springs, up to 1,000 per mattress, with a denim-look square border

That gives you a choice rather than a compromise. If the medium side feels too soft after a few nights, turn it over; if your back prefers the firmer face in winter and the softer one in summer, you can switch. Turning also spreads the wear, which, as Aspire points out, is the main reason two-sided mattresses last longer: fillings settle where you lie, and the rested face recovers while you sleep on the other.

Aspire designed the Pocket+ spring to keep its structure and side support after being rolled and vacuum packed. Each spring is individually pocketed, which keeps a partner’s movement on their side.

Sizes and prices

Size Mattress size (cm) Aspire price
Small single (2ft6) 75 x 190 £139
Single (3ft) 90 x 190 £159
Small double (4ft) 120 x 190 £179
Double (4ft6) 135 x 190 £199
King (5ft) 150 x 200 £229

Prices read on 15 October 2026, with no reductions. There is no super king. Delivery to the doorstep is free on the UK mainland, and the rolled mattress needs up to 48 hours to recover its full depth.

Who it suits

It suits a student room, a guest bed or a first flat, where a low price, a long warranty and a mattress that can be carried upstairs in a box all matter. Because each side has only a thin comfort layer, it is not the right choice for a side sleeper who wants deep cushioning; one of Aspire’s pillowtops serves them better.

Warranty and returns

Aspire lists a 5-year warranty, pro rata after the first year as set out on its guarantee page. There is no trial, and Aspire’s returns policy excludes mattresses with a broken hygiene seal from the 14-day cancellation right unless they are faulty, so the second side is your only adjustment once it is unwrapped. The Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 allow a seller to exclude sealed goods that are unsuitable for return for hygiene reasons once they have been unsealed, which is the rule Aspire applies.

Our verdict

Conclusion
“At this price, a flippable pocket mattress with two firmness options and a 5-year warranty is hard to beat for a spare room, a student or a first flat. Buyers who want natural fillings or a plush top should spend more on Aspire's tufted cashmere models.”
