The Woolroom Junior is a 16cm double-sided pocket sprung children's mattress with coir, British wool and alpaca, made in Manchester.
The Junior Mattress is Woolroom’s step up from a cot or toddler mattress, meant for children up to about 12 years old. It is a full single, sold in 90 x 190cm and the longer 90 x 200cm Single XL.
Inside is a core of 1,000 pocket springs with coir fibre on both sides, a British wool Biobond layer and a comfort filling of British wool and British alpaca. The cover is Lancashire-woven organic cotton on the top, bottom and border.
At 16cm it is slimmer than an adult mattress, which Woolroom notes matters on bunk beds and high sleepers: the guard rail should sit at least 10cm above the mattress surface. It is double-sided, so you can flip and rotate it for even wear, and it meets UK flammability rules without chemical treatments.
Woolroom says all fibres are sourced and made within 35 miles of Manchester. It comes with a 5-year manufacturing warranty and doorstep delivery. Bespoke sizes are available on request.
