A single-size children's mattress with 600 pocket springs, breathable EcoComfort fibres and no foam or flame-retardant chemical treatment.
The Astro Eco Comfort Pocket is part of Silentnight’s Healthy Growth range for children’s beds. It is the pocket-sprung model in the range, with 600 Mirapocket springs under breathable EcoComfort fibres and a quilted cover.
Silentnight rates it medium, which we score at 5. That is a sensible middle ground for a growing child, firm enough to support a back sleeper yet with enough give for the side positions most children move through.
Two details stand out for parents. The mattress contains no foam and has no flame-retardant chemical treatment, according to Silentnight, and the fibre filling is described as hypoallergenic and breathable. At 23.5cm deep it is not suited to bunk or cabin beds, where Silentnight sells thinner dedicated models.
It comes in a UK single only, at £279 on the Silentnight shop, with the same 60-night trial and 5-year guarantee as the adult mattresses. A matching waterproof protector is sold separately.

„A well-specified single for a child who has moved into a full-size bed, and the pocket springs give it more lasting support than the cheaper open-coil and fibre-only Healthy Growth models. Check your bed's safety rail height before choosing it for a bunk.“
