Duvalay Essentials Travel Topper reviewed

The Duvalay Essentials Travel Topper is the cheapest topper Duvalay makes: a 66cm-wide, 190cm-long memory foam layer for caravan and motorhome seating, aimed at new owners and people who only go away a few weekends a year. It costs £69.95 in the 2.5cm depth.

What you get for the lower price

Essentials is Duvalay’s new, simplified range. According to the Duvalay product page, the topper uses one standard memory foam rather than the Gold, Silver or Freshtec grades of the main range, and its removable cover is 100% polyester rather than the polyester and viscose mix of the premium toppers. It is also supplied without securing straps, which keeps the price down but means you need your own way of keeping it rolled.

The 5cm version costs £30 more than the 2.5cm. Prices were checked on 13 October 2026.

Essentials or the main Travel Topper

The gap is £30 in the 66cm, 2.5cm version, which buys a denser grade of foam and the straps.

Who it suits

We recommend it for occasional trips on caravan seating: one topper covers a single berth, and two side by side cover many front make-up doubles. Choose 5cm if the cushions have noticeable joins, 2.5cm if storage is tight. If you go away most weekends, or you want a firmer or cooler foam, the main Travel Topper is the better long-term buy because it adds widths, foams and straps. The Essentials topper cannot be made to a custom size.

Offers, care and returns

Duvalay states that the whole Essentials range is excluded from its offers and discount codes, so the price you see is the price you pay. The cover machine washes at 30°C and should not be tumble dried. As a standard item it can go back within 14 days if unused and still packed, under the Duvalay returns policy, with return postage at your cost.
