Duvalay VW Campervan Mattress Topper reviewed

The Duvalay VW Campervan Mattress Topper is a one-piece foam topper sized for the rock and roll and RIB beds in Volkswagen T5, T6 and T7 campervans. It smooths out the seams and dips of a bench-seat bed, and one corner is cut away to clear the rear door panel.

Widths and dimensions

The Duvalay product page lists three widths to match common bed conversions. Measure your bed with the seats folded flat before choosing.

Each width also comes in 5cm Silver memory foam, 5cm Gold memory foam or 5cm Freshtec cooling foam. In the 115cm width the 5cm Silver adds about £26 to the 2.5cm Gold price, and Gold or Freshtec at 5cm add roughly £86 to £91. Prices were checked on 13 October 2026.

Which depth to choose

The 2.5cm Gold rolls to 28cm across, so it travels on the back seat without much fuss; the 5cm versions roll to 34 to 36cm and do a better job of hiding the gap between the seat back and base. If you can feel that join through your hip at night, go for 5cm. Silver is the softer, medium-firm memory foam that Duvalay suggests for side sleepers, Gold is firmer, and Freshtec is the cooler option for summer trips.

Pop tops and storage

Duvalay says the topper works in most pop tops, but the corner cut-out is shaped for the rear door, so you may see a small gap in the roof bed. For a VW California roof, the dedicated Pop Top topper fits better. If space is tight, Duvalay itself suggests two 58cm Travel Toppers (116cm combined) instead of one wide piece, since each rolls up smaller.

Care and returns

The zipped cover machine washes at 30°C and should not be tumble dried; a replacement cover is sold separately. The topper is a standard item, so the returns policy allows an unused return within 14 days at your cost. Delivery is free on orders over £100.
