Duvalay Home Mattress Topper reviewed

The Duvalay Home Mattress Topper is a 5cm foam topper for a bed at home, sold in standard UK sizes from single to super king. It uses the same three foams as Duvalay’s touring toppers and is handmade in Yorkshire, which makes it the one Duvalay topper built for an ordinary bedroom rather than a van.

Foam options

The Duvalay product page offers Silver memory foam with a medium-firm feel, Gold memory foam (Duvalay’s highest density and firmest) and Freshtec, a breathable foam with a soft, latex-like feel and a cool-touch cover. Memory foam is the choice for pressure relief on a tired, lumpy mattress; Freshtec is aimed at people who overheat or get night sweats. All three are 5cm deep, enough to change how a mattress feels without making the bed noticeably taller.

Sizes and prices

Duvalay’s single is 91cm wide, a centimetre wider than the usual UK single. Prices below are for Silver memory foam, the cheapest option; Gold and Freshtec cost about £65 to £75 more in each size.

Prices were checked on Duvalay’s own shop on 13 October 2026, where every size and foam was in stock.

Who it suits

Pick Silver if you sleep on your side and want your shoulder and hip to sink in a little, Gold if you sleep on your back and like a firmer, more even surface, and Freshtec if heat rather than firmness keeps you awake. The NHS lists hot flushes and night sweats among the most common menopause symptoms, and Duvalay says many of its Freshtec buyers are women going through the menopause. A topper softens and evens out a mattress; it will not fix one that has sagged in the middle.

Care, delivery and returns

The zipped cover (67% polyester, 29% viscose, 4% other fibres) comes off for a 30°C machine wash and should not be tumble dried. Delivery is free over £100 to mainland UK and usually takes up to ten working days. There is no trial: the returns policy allows a change-of-mind return within 14 days only if the topper is unused and still packed.
