What the allergy seal means

Allergy UK lists products that carry its endorsements on its approved products page; the Seal of Approval is meant for products independently tested to reduce or remove allergens indoors. Silentnight says the fibres protect the duvet against dust mites and bacteria. That is a claim about the filling, so the duvet still needs regular washing, and it is rated for 40°C rather than a hot wash.

Sizes and prices

Size (10.5 tog) Duvet size (cm, W x L) Price
Single 135 x 200 £19
Double 200 x 200 £22
King 225 x 220 £24

We checked these prices on silentnight.co.uk on 26 October 2026, when the 4.5, 7.5 and 10.5 tog versions were reduced by £2 to £3 and the 13.5 tog was at full price. The other togs cost a pound or two more or less than the 10.5 tog.

Who it suits, and the drawbacks

It suits anyone with a dust-mite allergy who wants a cheap duvet they can replace often, and households that want a 4.5 tog for summer and a 13.5 tog for winter without spending much. There is no super king, the 40°C wash limit rules out hot washing, and at the lower togs the hollowfibre feels thin next to a cluster-fibre or down duvet.

Our verdict

Conclusion
“The cheapest way into a duvet with an allergy seal from a known British maker, and the four togs let you buy a summer and a winter weight for the price of one premium duvet. It washes at 40°C only, so it suits allergy-conscious sleepers who wash often rather than hot.”
