A tog rating measures how well a duvet holds in warmth, and 10.5 is the usual middle choice in UK bedding: warm enough for spring and autumn, a little warm for August. The fill is Simba Renew Bio, a polyester fibre spun from recycled bottles and designed to let air move through it, so the warmth feels drier than in a dense hollowfibre duvet. Square stitching keeps the fill spread evenly instead of drifting to the edges.
One side of the cotton cover carries Stratos, a finish Simba says measured up to 3°C cooler than untreated fabric in tests by HeiQ in November 2020. That is a fabric test, not a whole night under the duvet, but it explains why the top side feels cool when you first get in. A label at the foot end shows which way round it goes.

Choose the Hybrid if you want one duvet on the bed for most of the year and you run slightly warm. The NHS sleep advice recommends a cool bedroom, and a breathable fill with a cool-touch side helps when the room is not as cool as it should be. Simba also shows a menopause-friendly symbol on the page; the NHS guidance on menopause symptoms lists night sweats among the common symptoms, which is where a cooler duvet can help. It is machine washable at 40°C, but a king or super king needs a large drum, and Simba recommends a commercial dryer. Duvets fall under Simba’s standard 30-day return on its returns page, not the 200-night mattress trial.

“The Hybrid Duvet is the one Simba duvet we would recommend to most people: a single 10.5 tog weight that works for most of the year, with a cooling top side. If you are always hot, pick the Summer version or the adjustable 3-in-1 instead.”Go to shop →
