Aspire Dual Layer Pro Hybrid Rolled Mattress
7.0/10A 20cm open coil hybrid with two layers of recycled eco foam, rated medium,…
Firmness: MediumThe Aspire Comfort Rolled is a foam-free, 19.5cm open coil mattress for spare rooms and tight budgets, delivered rolled.
The Aspire Comfort Rolled Mattress is a 19.5cm Bonnell sprung mattress with no foam in it at all, made in the UK and sent vacuum packed in a roll. It is the cheapest sprung mattress on Aspire’s own shop, and Aspire rates it medium-soft. That combination makes it a sensible buy for a guest room, a teenager’s first double or a loft room with a narrow stair, and a weaker one for a bed you sleep on every night for years.
Aspire’s cross-section drawing lists six layers. Up to 460 open coil springs per mattress do the supporting, sandwiched between recycled fibre pads rather than foam:
| Layer, top to bottom | What Aspire uses |
|---|---|
| Sleep surface | Aspire Cool Touch quilted fabric |
| Comfort layer | 400gsm high-loft recycled polyester fibre |
| Insulator | Recycled felt pad, both sides of the springs |
| Spring unit | Bonnell open coil, up to 460 springs |
| Base layer | 400gsm high-density recycled polyester fibre |
| Underside | Recycled non-slip base fabric |
An open coil unit links every spring to its neighbours with wire, so the whole surface moves together. You feel that as a bouncier, more even surface than memory foam, and also as more movement when a partner turns over. The fibre fillings are thin compared with Aspire’s tufted models, which is why the feel stays soft rather than plush. Because there is no foam layer, the mattress does not trap heat the way a solid foam block can, and the open fabric underneath lets air move through the coil.
| Size | Mattress size (cm) | Aspire price |
|---|---|---|
| Small single (2ft6) | 75 x 190 | £115 |
| Single (3ft) | 90 x 190 | £115 |
| Small double (4ft) | 120 x 190 | £145 |
| Double (4ft6) | 135 x 190 | £145 |
| King (5ft) | 150 x 200 | £175 |
There is no super king. Prices were checked on Aspire’s shop on 15 October 2026 and none of the sizes carried a reduction. Delivery is free to the doorstep on the UK mainland, and a rolled mattress fits through doorways that a flat one will not.
The warranty is the short one in Aspire’s range: 12 months, against five years on the brand’s tufted pocket sprung mattresses. There is no sleep trial either, and Aspire’s returns policy excludes mattresses whose hygiene seal has been broken from the 14-day cancellation right, so once it is unwrapped you keep it unless it is faulty. Aspire states that its Essentials mattresses meet the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988, the UK standard every mattress sold here has to pass.
A heavier sleeper or anyone with back pain will get more out of a pocket sprung mattress such as Aspire’s own Pocket+ 1000 range, which costs more but supports each spring separately.

“Buy the Comfort Rolled for a guest bed, a child's room or a short-term let, where a low price and an easy rolled delivery matter more than long-term support. For nightly use by an adult, the 12-month warranty and soft open coil feel point you towards a pocket sprung model instead.”Go to shop →
