Exped discount codes & offers

Exped is a Swiss outdoor-equipment company registered in Zurich, and in Britain it is best known for its sleeping mats. According to Exped’s own history page, founders Andi and Heidi spent nine months in the Canadian wilderness in 1981, and the company says it has created numerous innovations over the past 20 years, the down-filled DownMat among them.

Range and where to buy

Exped’s UK shop, expeduk.com, prices in pounds and sells the whole mat range, from light backpacking air pads to the MegaMat family of 10cm self-inflating mattresses built for car camping and spare beds. Outdoor specialists such as GO Outdoors, Facewest and Trekitt also stock the brand. The MegaMat family shares one construction: open-cell foam with air channels, a recycled stretch-polyester top, flat valves and an R-value of 8.1, which puts it among the warmest self-inflating mats on sale in the UK.

Terms

On the UK shop the MegaMat costs £290 and the Duo starts at £360 in its 104cm width. Exped runs its own warranty and repair service, reached through the UK shop, and a pump comes in the box with every MegaMat. Like other camping kit, the mats are sold without a sleep trial, so returns follow the shop’s normal policy. Two MegaMat models feature in our camping mattress comparison.
