A double-sided 70x140cm cot bed mattress with a firm baby side and a sprung toddler side, conforming to BS EN 16890.
The Hybrid Cot Bed Mattress is a 10cm, double-sided mattress in the standard UK cot bed size of 70x140cm. Simba states it conforms to BS EN 16890, the safety standard for cot and crib mattresses, and to BS 7177 for resistance to ignition.
One side is for babies. It uses a 50mm layer of firm, heat-treated Simba Renew fibre made from recycled plastic, giving the flat, firm surface safe-sleep guidance calls for in the first year. When the child turns one, you flip it to the toddler side, where 648 Aerocoil springs sit under two thinner layers of softer fibre.
Both sides have a water-resistant inner lining, and the knitted top cover is removable and washable at 40 degrees. There is no foam in it at all.
The terms are shorter than the adult range. Simba gives a 2-year guarantee and free returns within 30 days rather than the 200-night trial, and it is priced well above basic cot bed mattresses.
