Simba Soft Muslin Duvet Cover reviewed

The Simba Soft Muslin Duvet Cover is a 160gsm cotton muslin cover with a washed, crinkled finish, sold in double, king and super king from £119. It is the lightest and softest cover in Simba’s range, built for a relaxed look that never needs ironing.

The fabric

Muslin is a loosely woven cotton, one thread over and one under, which lets air and heat pass through easily. Simba uses 160gsm cotton and washes the finished fabric to set its crinkled texture, which softens further with every wash and needs no ironing. It is the most casual-looking fabric in the range. The bedding is certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100, the label for textiles tested against more than 1,000 harmful substances, and it is dyed, cut and sewn by the Costa family in Guimarães, Portugal.

Hidden coconut shell buttons close the cover, and tape ties in each corner hold the duvet in place. The covers are cut to the same four sizes as Simba’s own duvets, so a Simba Hybrid Duvet fills them edge to edge. The tech spec lists a single size as well, but only double, king and super king were on sale when we checked.

Prices were read on simbasleep.com on 15 October 2026 and are the same for all four colours. Delivery is free and next day for orders before 1pm.

Washing and care

Simba’s care label says wash with similar colours on a regular cycle and tumble dry on low with wool dryer balls, with no bleach, iron or dry cleaning. Each wash adds to the crinkle and the softness, and the thin fabric dries faster than heavier cotton. Undo any corner ties before washing so they do not knot together in the drum.

Who it suits

Choose this cover if you want an airy, soft bed with a casual, lived-in look and sleep on the warm side. The loose weave lets heat out, and the NHS sleep advice recommends a cool bedroom. It costs £40 more than the percale cover as a double and comes in four neutral colours only. Unused bedding can be returned within 30 days under Simba’s returns page.
