The Aspire Cashmere 1000 Pocket+ Dual Sided is a hand-tufted, two-sided mattress that still arrives rolled in a box, thanks to Aspire’s Pocket+ spring unit. One face has wool, cashmere and horsehair fillings under a cashmere cover; the other has an eco foam layer with traditional fibres under a knitted fabric. It is 22cm deep, made in the UK, and a 4ft6 double costs £389.01.

Two different faces

Aspire pitches the sides by season. The natural side, with wool, cashmere and horsehair, is the breathable one for warm months; the foam side holds more heat for winter. Because the faces feel different, turning it is also how you choose your feel: the natural side is the more traditional, springy surface and the foam side a little more contouring. Aspire rates the mattress medium overall.

Layer Natural side Foam side
Cover Cashmere knit fabric Knitted comfort fabric
Comfort layer 250gsm cashmere pad with wool and horsehair Recycled eco support foam
Fibre 800gsm high-loft recycled polyester 400gsm high-loft recycled polyester
Shared core Pocket+ springs, up to 1,000 per mattress, between recycled felt pads

The Pocket+ spring is Aspire’s own design for mattresses that are rolled and vacuum packed: the brand says on the product page that it keeps its structure and side support after rolling without needing a foam surround. That is what lets a traditional hand side-stitched, tufted mattress travel in a box. Tufting, which the National Bed Federation describes as tapes passed through the mattress to stop fillings shifting, keeps the natural side’s layers in place between turns.

Sizes and prices

Size Mattress size (cm) Aspire price
Small single (2ft6) 75 x 190 £299.01
Single (3ft) 90 x 190 £313.01
Small double (4ft) 120 x 190 £369.01
Double (4ft6) 135 x 190 £389.01
King (5ft) 150 x 200 £423.01

Prices read on 15 October 2026, with no reduction. There is no super king. Delivery to the doorstep is free on the UK mainland, and the rolled format suits narrow stairs and attic rooms. Because horsehair and wool are in the filling, it is not suitable if you want an animal-free mattress.

Who it suits

A buyer with an attic bedroom, a narrow staircase or a flat with no lift is the obvious match, since most two-sided, tufted mattresses only come flat. It also suits anyone who likes the idea of a natural face and a softer foam face in one mattress. Couples share one side at a time, so agree on which face to use before you turn it.

Warranty and returns

The 5-year warranty is pro rata after year one, set out on Aspire’s guarantee page. There is no sleep trial; a mattress with a broken hygiene seal falls outside the 14-day cancellation right unless faulty. Turn it at least every season so both faces wear evenly.

Our verdict

Conclusion
“Pick this if you want a turnable, natural-filled mattress but need it delivered in a box, for a loft room or a tight staircase. If you want one consistent feel on both sides, Aspire's flat-delivered dual-sided models are more traditional.”
