The fabric

Pure linen breathes well but can feel rough at first. Simba blends 60% linen with 40% Tencel lyocell, a fibre made from wood pulp, to soften the handle and add moisture-wicking, while keeping linen’s slubby texture and relaxed, rumpled look. It is meant to be used unironed, and Simba’s care label says not to iron it at all. The blend is certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100, the label for textiles tested for harmful substances, and it is woven and sewn by the Costa family in Guimarães, Portugal, with natural dyes.

Inside corner ties and a button closure keep the duvet in place. The covers are cut to the same four sizes as Simba’s own duvets, so a Simba Hybrid Duvet fills them edge to edge. The tech spec also lists a single size, but the shop offered only double, king and super king when we checked. Linen’s rumpled texture is part of the look, and Simba’s care label says not to iron, bleach or dry clean it.

Sizes and prices

Size Duvet cover size (cm, W x L) Price
Double 200 x 200 £169
King 225 x 220 £179
Super king 260 x 220 £199

These are the regular prices on simbasleep.com, checked on 15 October 2026. Dusty Rose and Light Cappuccino were on clearance at much lower prices while stocks last. Delivery is free and next day for orders before 1pm.

Washing and care

Simba says to wash with similar colours, tumble dry on low with wool dryer balls, and not to bleach, iron or dry clean it. Linen softens with every wash, so expect it to feel noticeably better after a few weeks than it does on the first night. Undo any corner ties before washing so they do not knot together in the drum.

Who it suits

Choose this cover if you sleep hot or want a natural, relaxed bed that never needs ironing. The NHS sleep advice recommends a cool bedroom, and linen is the airiest fabric in Simba’s bedding. It costs £90 more than the percale cover as a double, and the texture is coarser than sateen. Unused bedding can be returned within 30 days under Simba’s returns page.

Our verdict

Conclusion
“The Cool Linen Duvet Cover is our pick for summer and for hot sleepers who like texture. It is expensive next to cotton, so it makes most sense if you value the linen look.”
