Cuggl 95 x 65cm Travel Cot Mattress reviewed

The Cuggl 95 x 65cm Travel Cot Mattress is Argos’s own-brand replacement mattress for one of the most common travel cot sizes in the UK: 5cm deep, with a polyester fibre core. It is the cheapest dedicated travel cot mattress in our comparison, and the Argos listing carries several hundred customer reviews.

Construction

Under a 100% polypropylene cover sits a polyester core. Argos describes the mattress as breathable, air permeable, water resistant and hypoallergenic, and the cover zips off for the washing machine, which helps after a holiday with a teething or poorly baby. It does not fold, so it travels flat in the car rather than in a bag.

Fit and safety

Measure the inside of your travel cot base before ordering. The mattress should sit flat against all four sides, and the Lullaby Trust asks for a firm, flat mattress with a waterproof cover that fits the cot with no gaps. Many travel cots, Cuggl’s own included, come with a mattress, so check the cot maker’s guidance before using a replacement. Argos states BS EN 16890 compliance for the larger 104 x 74cm Cuggl; its page for this size gives no standard, so ask Argos if you want to see one.

Price and guarantee

Argos lists a regular price of £28 and often discounts it. The mattress carries a one-year manufacturer’s guarantee and is sold only by Argos, in store and online. For other sizes and folding models, see our travel cot mattress comparison.
